The Travel Partnership Corporation

The Travel Partnership Corporation (TTPC), a Washington D.C. non-profit corporation, was established to promote the top-level domain (sTLD) .travel. It was incorporated on February 12, 2002 and started operating in 2005.

IATA, WTTC, ASTA and UFTAA led the initiative.  Starting as a sponsored domain open to all bona fide travel and tourism associations, TTPC very quickly had the support of over 100 associations representing a broad cross-section of the industry. TTPC is a constituency comprised of travel agents, tour operators, airlines, hotels, car -hire companies, cruise lines, coach companies, ferries, rail lines, theme parks, convention bureaus and national tourism offices.

As the sponsor of .travel domain, TTPC has instituted various systems to develop and enforce standards, policies, procedures and practices in respect to the current TLD.  Whilst ICANN no longer requires TTPC to engage in the policies, TTPC still closely monitors the policy development and follows changes in procedures and practices in order to safeguard the integrity of the travel and tourism industry.

TTPC has also introduced  “.travel SmartConnect”, connecting the travel and tourism industry.  It is a members only group for .travel domain name holders on the LinkedIn platform.

A small board of directors elected from various travel and tourism entities heads TTPC.

Marketing of .travel domain names is handled by Donuts, Inc, an independent company that owns the .travel domain name.
